Thornton Lockwood
Thornton Lockwood received his Ph.D. from Boston University for a dissertation on Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics and Politics.
His research has focused on the writings of Plato and Aristotle, and he is the co-editor of a forthcoming book Aristotle's Politics: A Critical Guide (Cambridge University Press). He is currently working on several articles concerning the transmission of Aristotle's Politics into the medieval period in authors like Dante Alighieri and Thomas Aquinas. His teaching interests include ancient and medieval philosophy, ethics, political philosophy, the philosophy of war, and global justice. In addition to teaching in the philosophy program, he teaches a course on political theory for the Political Science program and a course on Greek history for the History department. |
